Rome: Man found dead with stab wounds in Parco Montagna

Rome homicide La Rustica stabbing Tor Sapienza illegal occupation

An unidentified man, believed to be a foreign national, was found dead with stab wounds in Parco Fabio Montagna in the La Rustica area of Rome on Wednesday morning. The body was discovered around 7:30 AM by a passerby walking a dog.

Investigators from the Carabinieri stations of Tor Sapienza and Montesacro are examining the scene. The victim was not carrying identification, and authorities are working to establish his identity. The discovery follows a period of tension in the neighborhood; on Tuesday night, a 42-year-old Nigerian man was stabbed in the legs near via Raffaele Costi.

Police are investigating potential links between the homicide and the recent eviction of an occupied building in via Tallone. Some reports suggest the victim may have been among those displaced by the eviction, and there are indications that the building may have been re-occupied overnight.
