Rome meeting to discuss biomethane integration in agriculture
An upcoming meeting in Rome on October 27 will address the integration of biomethane into the agricultural sector to promote sustainability and a circular economy. The event, titled ‘Biomethane. Innovation, sustainability and safety of new field refueling systems’, is organized by Fondazione UniVerde, Coldiretti, the Italian Biogas Consortium (CIB), and the European Biogas Association (EBA).
Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio, President of Fondazione UniVerde, emphasized that biomethane must be made accessible to farming enterprises to allow for multifunctional agriculture. This approach aims to combine food production with renewable energy and land protection. The discussions will focus on innovations that allow biomethane producers to provide fuel for agricultural machinery directly in the field, benefiting both local farms and the environment.
The meeting will bring together institutions, the scientific community, and industry leaders to establish clear regulatory frameworks and authorization procedures to support the development of the supply chain while ensuring operational safety.
