Rome metro parking to introduce nighttime fees

Starting October 1, Rome will implement nighttime fees for commuter parking lots at three metro Line B1 stations: Conca d’Oro, Annibaliano, and Jonio. The new rate is set at 0.80 euros per hour.

This measure, managed by Atac, aims to prevent commuters' parking spaces from being used as long-term private garages by local residents. Currently, some spaces are occupied for extended periods, reducing availability for those using the metro. The nighttime period applies from 00:15 to 05:15 from Sunday to Thursday, and from 02:15 to 05:15 on Friday and Saturday. During these hours, vehicles cannot be retrieved.

Even holders of the Metrebus annual subscription will be required to pay the hourly fee during these specific nighttime windows. However, daytime parking remains free for Metrebus subscribers with the appropriate parking permit. People with disabilities are exempt from the new fee. The administration plans to gradually extend this nighttime tariff to all 36 Atac-managed exchange parking lots across the city.
