Rome police arrest man for domestic violence and assault

A 52-year-old man of Romanian origin has been placed in prison following an investigation by the Polizia di Stato in Rome. He is suspected of domestic abuse and personal injury.

Authorities report that the suspect's relationship with his partner was marked by an escalation of physical aggression and verbal harassment, often fueled by alcohol abuse. The violence reportedly intensified when the woman refused sexual advances.

The situation reached a critical point in late August when the man allegedly assaulted his partner and seized her mobile phone to prevent her from calling for help. The victim managed to escape the assault and seek refuge with a friend, who later contacted the police.
