Rome police arrest man for robbery and seize altered food
In Rome's Esquilino district, local police arrested a 31-year-old Pakistani national for attempted robbery after he snatched clothing from a commercial shop and assaulted the owner during a flight attempt. Following the arrest, authorities confirmed the individual was in the country illegally and ordered his transfer to the Ponte Galeria repatriation center.
In a separate effort to protect public health and food safety, police also seized 80 kilograms of altered food products from a minimarket in the same area. These operations are part of ongoing surveillance in the Esquilino and “red zone” areas to combat illegality, urban decay, and food safety violations.
