Rome police arrest serial knife-wielding grocery store robber
A 38-year-old man with a prior criminal record has been arrested by the Carabinieri following a series of armed robberies targeting grocery stores in Northern Rome.
The most recent incident occurred around 5:00 AM in a minimarket on via Vibio Mariano. The suspect, wearing a mask and acting aggressively, threatened the 52-year-old owner with a sharp knife. The perpetrator demanded cash and merchandise, successfully fleeing with 50 euros and a bottle of spirits before being intercepted by officers from the Tomba di Nerone station.
Authorities indicate this individual is a serial offender who had previously targeted three other businesses along the Cassia area in recent days.
