Rome police arrest six in eastern suburb drug busts
Police operations in the eastern suburbs of Rome have resulted in six arrests following investigations into drug trafficking networks in the Tor Sapienza, Quarticciolo, and Alessandrino neighborhoods.
In Tor Sapienza, authorities dismantled a family-run operation involving an 80-year-old man and his son. During a home search, police discovered cocaine hidden inside containers disguised as medicine bottles within a locked metal box. Officers also seized 38 wraps of cocaine weighing over 41 grams, cash, scales, and handwritten ledgers used to track client accounts and business volumes.
In the Quarticciolo area, police intercepted several street-level transactions. These arrests included a 34-year-old Tunisian national who was already subject to a residence ban and an expulsion order, and a 25-year-old Somali national found with 14 wraps of cocaine concealed inside a cigarette pack.
