Rome police conduct anti-drug operations and arrests

Police in Rome have conducted several anti-drug operations across various districts, resulting in multiple arrests and the seizure of narcotics. In the northeastern suburbs, including Labaro, Ponte di Nona, and Tor Tre Teste, investigators from the Squadra Mobile identified four distinct drug trafficking systems characterized by rapid deliveries and mobile meeting points.

One specific operation in Labaro involved the interception of a hand-to-hand exchange of a pink package containing cocaine. In another instance at Ponte di Nona, surveillance led to the arrest of a dealer following repeated contacts with buyers. These operations resulted in the seizure of 42 doses of cocaine, 2 doses of hashish, and 525 euros in cash.

In a separate operation near Viale Vaticano, police intercepted a vehicle acting as a mobile depot. Officers discovered cocaine, crack, and hashish hidden in the car's air vents and door seals. Two young individuals were arrested following the search, which also uncovered 2,700 euros in the vehicle and additional hashish and 300 euros at their residence. This intervention is part of a broader security initiative targeting illegal activities in high-traffic tourist areas.
