A 29-year-old Hungarian man was detained by Carabinieri after entering a coffee shop on Via Alessandro Farnese in the Prati district of Rome armed with several dangerous items. The incident occurred around 6:00 PM, causing alarm among customers and staff who alerted authorities.
During the intervention by the Prati Station and the San Pietro Company's operational unit, officers seized an air pistol, a switchblade, a scalpel, and pepper spray. Additionally, authorities recovered a notebook containing non-technical sketches of what appeared to be an explosive device.
The individual, described as a homeless man who likely suffers from mental health issues, has been reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office for the illegal possession of weapons and objects intended to cause harm.
