Rome police seize counterfeit Pokémon cards in shop raids

Local police in Rome conducted raids on six shops located in the Via Collatina area of the V municipality, resulting in the seizure of approximately 4,000 counterfeit items. The seized goods included fake Pokémon cards, Uno game decks, and various animated character merchandise.

Investigations revealed that the products featured printing defects, ink composition discrepancies, and graphic inconsistencies. Technical analysis and confirmation from the trademark owner verified the items as counterfeits. The goods were intended for both physical retail and sale on specialized e-commerce platforms, where they were marketed as original products.

Seven individuals, all Chinese nationals between the ages of 29 and 60, have been charged with counterfeiting and receiving stolen goods. One shop owner also faces charges of commercial fraud. Authorities are continuing investigations to map out the broader distribution network.
