Rome police thwart illegal building occupations in Tor Cervara
Police in Rome have thwarted attempts to illegally occupy buildings in the Tor Cervara district. Following reports via the YouPol app and other alerts, law enforcement intervened to prevent groups from settling in disused structures.
In one incident involving a building on via Cesare Tallone, two individuals of Nigerian origin were taken to the Immigration Office for investigation. Authorities have maintained a permanent presence at this site in anticipation of planned redevelopment works to prevent further unauthorized settlements.
In a separate but related effort in the same area, police intercepted a group of approximately 20 people attempting to enter a vacant building. Officers identified three individuals inside the perimeter; they were reported for land invasion and building occupation. One individual also faced charges for possession of a knife. The property has since been returned to its owners.
