Rome reopens Salaria road after bridge repairs
The Rome municipal traffic service announced that Via Salaria will be reopened to traffic on Saturday, 18 July 2026, following the restoration of a damaged over‑pass (cavalcavia) that was compromised in 2021 by an oversized vehicle. The works, which required the closure of Salaria and detours onto parallel streets, involved demolition of the damaged elements and installation of new prefabricated beams. The reopening restores a key north‑city artery and aims to minimise future traffic disruptions, with remaining bridge work to continue in the coming weeks.
In parallel, the regional service Astral infomobilità reported ongoing traffic conditions on the Nomentana road near Via di Sant’Alessandro, noting that the segment remains closed after an incident, while traffic is heavy on the Colombo route and along Via del Mare. The service continues to provide real‑time updates to drivers throughout Lazio.
