Rome selected to host WRC Italian stage in 2027

The World Rally Championship (WRC) promoter has selected Rome to host the Italian stage of the championship starting in 2027, moving the event from Sardinia. The decision was driven by the promoter's strategy to utilize Rome's international prestige to revitalize the global image of rallying.

Local institutions, including the Rome Department of Grand Events and the Lazio Region's Tourism Department, played a key role in making prestigious locations available for the international event. Support for the project was provided by Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri and Lazio Region President Francesco Rocca. The promoter had previously indicated that the Italian round would either move to Rome and Lazio or potentially not be held in Italy at all.
