Rome supermarket armed robbery stopped by citizen

On Tuesday 4 August, a 57‑year‑old man entered the Conad supermarket in Piazza dei Decemviri, Don Bosco, Rome, brandishing a replica Beretta pistol and shouting “Uscite tutti da qui o vi ammazzo” (“Everyone out or I’ll kill you”). He caused panic and ordered customers to leave.

Carabinieri from the Rome Radiomobile unit arrived quickly. A customer inside tackled the gunman from behind, allowing officers to seize the weapon and arrest the suspect without injuries. The incident highlighted concerns about public safety in the capital.
