Rome to host major art exhibitions for Picabia and Pontormo

Rome will host two major art exhibitions starting in October 2026.

Villa Medici will display Francis Picabia’s 1909 work, ‘Paesaggio’, from October 9, 2026, to January 18, 2027. The exhibition highlights a pivotal moment in the artist's career as he transitioned toward abstraction. This display is held in conjunction with the ‘Picabia. Aprire le porte della notte’ exhibition at the Palazzo Reale in Milan.

Additionally, the Scuderie del Quirinale will host an exhibition dedicated to the Mannerist painter Pontormo from October 9, 2026, to February 7, 2027. Curated by Cristina Acidini and a team of specialists, the show features paintings and works on paper from international institutions, including the Louvre, the National Gallery, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Getty Museum. Key works include the ‘Visitazione’, ‘Cena in Emmaus’, and ‘Ritratto di Alabardiere’.
