Rome to host World Panettone Convention to promote Made in Italy

The fifth edition of the World Panettone Convention, titled ‘Il Re dei Lievitati’, is scheduled to take place on October 13 at the Palazzo Esposizioni in Rome. Organized by the Accademia Maestri del Lievito Madre e del Panettone Italiano in collaboration with AEPI, the event is supported by MASAF, ICE, and Roma Capitale.

A central focus of the convention will be the presentation of a Manifesto for Italian Panettone. This includes a proposal to update technical specifications to introduce the designation ‘Panettone Italiano’, aimed at highlighting the use of national agro-food raw materials. The initiative seeks to create a shared strategy between institutions, businesses, agricultural sectors, and master bakers.

Discussions will address panettone as a ‘country system’ that integrates industry, craftsmanship, and agriculture. Additionally, the event will feature panels on international markets and the exhibition system, involving organizations such as HostMilano and the Italian Exhibition Group, to strengthen the presence of large leavened products at global food trade fairs.
