Italy reports multiple fatal and serious road accidents
A series of violent road accidents across various Italian regions has resulted in several fatalities and numerous injuries.
In the north, a 20-year-old man died on the A1 motorway near Melegnano after being struck by a SUV while attempting to place an emergency triangle following a vehicle collision. In Trentino Alto Adige, a 60-year-old tourist from Emilia-Romagna was killed in a head-on collision on the SS49 near Brunico, leaving three others injured. Other regional incidents include a 16-year-old motorcyclist hospitalized in critical condition in Corbetta and a 23-year-old motorcyclist injured in Rimini.
In central and southern Italy, a 76-year-old man died in Naples after being struck by a motorcycle while crossing a street. In Frosinone, a 38-year-old worker died after falling from a school roof during maintenance work. Additional accidents were reported in Ancona, involving a vehicle rollover, and in Cesano Boscone, where a car struck a mother and her 11-month-old infant, both of whom were transported to the hospital via helicopter.
In Liguria, a motorcycle accident in Genoa left one person hospitalized in serious condition, while incidents in Carasco, San Colombano, and Chiavari also resulted in multiple injuries to motorists and pedestrians.
