Romee Strijd rejected from Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

Dutch model Romee Strijd has revealed via TikTok that she was rejected for the upcoming Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Strijd, a former ‘Angel’ who walked the runway between 2014 and 2018, expressed deep emotional distress regarding the casting process.

Strijd noted that she traveled to New York in September for the audition and spent the entire summer training to prepare for a comeback. She criticized the lack of clear communication from her agency and the brand, stating she was kept in uncertainty for weeks on a ‘maybe list’ only to be told she was not a ‘good fit’ just days before the event.

The model emphasized that while she accepts rejection as part of the industry, the mental stress caused by the inconsistent updates and the difficulty of balancing intense preparation with motherhood was particularly taxing. She indicated she does not intend to participate in future Victoria’s Secret auditions.
