Romell Glave wins men's 100m gold at European Athletics Championships

Romell Glave secured his first senior European title by winning the men's 100m at the 2026 European Athletics Championships in Birmingham. The 26-year-old sprinter finished the race in 10.09 seconds, leading a British one-two finish with Jeremiah Azu, who took silver in 10.16 seconds. Germany's Owen Ansah claimed the bronze with a time of 10.19 seconds.

Defending champion Lamont Marcell Jacobs, who had clocked a faster 10.08 seconds in the semifinals, finished seventh after sustaining an injury during the final. Great Britain also saw success in the women's 100m, where Amy Hunt took the gold medal.

Other notable results from the championships include Nadine Visser winning the women's 100m hurdles in 12.67 seconds, and Nadia Battocletti successfully defending her 5000m title with a time of 15:37.84.
