Romelu Lukaku's Napoli future hinges on Atlanta United interest

Napoli striker Romelu Lukaku, 33, has seen his playing time limited by injuries and the emergence of Rasmus Højlund as the club’s preferred forward. The club, led by president Aurelio De Laurentis, has set a minimum price of about €10 million for a transfer to avoid a financial loss on the player’s €30 million purchase last summer.

Major League Soccer side Atlanta United has emerged as the leading suitor, with the club’s representatives reportedly in early‑stage talks with Lukaku’s agent. The Belgian forward has indicated he will not remain a reserve and has expressed openness to an MLS move, while Napoli’s new coach Massimiliano Allegri is expected to discuss his role during the upcoming training camp at Castel di Sangro. Other potential destinations, including clubs in Turkey and Saudi Arabia, have also been mentioned, but Atlanta United appears the most concrete option at present.
