Rome's Artiglio gym reopens near Tiburtina Station

The Artiglio municipal gym near Rome's Tiburtina Station has officially reopened after being closed since 2006. The facility, which was part of the Villaggio dello Sport, had been subject to long-standing legal and political disputes regarding its concession and its integration with Metro B works.

The center is now managed by Consorzio Artiglio under a new 25-year agreement. The reopening was marked by the second edition of ‘Il Villaggio dello Sport’, a free community event promoting various disciplines including martial arts and volleyball. The inauguration included appearances by 1982 World Cup champion Bruno Conti and Svetlana Celli, president of the Capitolina assembly.
