Rome's Lime Scooter Service Suspended for 30 Days by Regional Tribunal

The Lazio Regional Administrative Tribunal (Tar) confirmed that the 30‑day suspension of Lime's electric‑scooter service in Rome is lawful. The suspension follows repeated breaches of the city's micromobility regulations, including failure to meet distribution thresholds and improper placement of scooters, which had previously led to fines and a one‑week halt in 2024.

Lime appealed the decision to the Council of State, which allowed the scooters to remain on the streets while the judicial process continues. The suspension does not immediately halt service; the vehicles will stay available for at least another 60 days pending the final ruling. The municipality of Rome had originally imposed the suspension in February 2026 after earlier infractions.

The ruling underscores the city's stricter enforcement of micromobility rules and signals that further violations could trigger a permanent revocation of Lime's operating licence.
