Rome's Mercato del Trullo opens second edition art lab

The second edition of “Il Mercato dell’Arte” launches in Rome’s Mercato del Trullo, transforming unused market stalls into open‑air studios and community spaces. An international call, open to artists and collectives of any age, gender or nationality, invites submissions until 30 August to develop four new projects that will run from 28 September to 23 October 2026.

The initiative is promoted by Roma Capitale – Assessorato alla Cultura, awarded under the Roma Creativa 365 public notice, and carried out in partnership with Zètema Progetto Cultura, Municipio Roma XI Arvalia Portuense, Roma Borgata Festival and HF4. Curated by Alessandra Muschella, the programme builds on a first edition that hosted artists such as Er Pinto, Linda Pennacchia and Kenji De Angelis, aiming to create works that engage the neighbourhood’s memory and identity and remain a lasting community heritage.
