Romina Pourmokhtari criticizes Jimmie Åkesson's ultimatum to Liberals
Swedish Climate and Environment Minister Romina Pourmokhtari has criticized Sweden Democrat leader Jimmie Åkesson following his ultimatum to the Liberal Party. Åkesson stated that if the Liberals do not poll above 3.5 percent ten days before the election, supporters of the right-wing coalition should switch their votes to other Tidö Party members.
Liberal Party leader Simona Mohamsson characterized the ultimatum as a “losing mentality.” Pourmokhtari echoed this sentiment, arguing that the party's focus should remain on the opposition rather than internal friction, which she described as “pissing in our own tent.”
Pourmokhtari projected that the Liberal Party will receive between 2 and 6 percent of the vote depending on their campaign performance. She emphasized that the right-wing bloc needs the Liberals to maintain power and prevent a shift to a red-green government led by Magdalena Andersson.
