Rommerskirchen implements transparency measures for local mandates
The municipality of Rommerskirchen has implemented measures to ensure maximum transparency regarding municipal mandates, following the 2025 local elections. In accordance with the anti-corruption laws of North Rhine-Westphalia, the local council reviewed an overview of the personal and economic circumstances of its members and committee representatives.
Under these regulations, mandate holders are required to provide written disclosures to the mayor regarding their current professions, consulting contracts, and memberships in supervisory boards, public law bodies, or private sector control organs. They must also disclose leadership roles in associations or similar committees. These disclosures are not one-time requirements; any changes to these circumstances must be reported to the administration immediately. The council has resolved to publish this overview in the municipal council and citizen information system to ensure public access to the data.
