Romsilva reports 96% of procurement contracts were competitive

Romsilva representatives have addressed concerns regarding procurement procedures following an analysis by the National Agency for Public Procurement (ANAP). The organization stated that of the 692.52 million lei in contracts awarded last year, 96% were granted through competitive procedures.

Only 4% of the total public procurement awards were made without prior publication of a notice. Romsilva clarified that 82.75% of these non-published acquisitions were conducted due to extreme emergency situations. These included responding to natural disasters such as windfalls, pest attacks, or floods, which required rapid intervention by foresters to protect forest funds and local communities.

The organization noted that the number of contracts awarded through these specific procedures has decreased over the last three years.
