Ron Anderson & Sons expands Chemainus facility with $2M provincial funding

Ron Anderson & Sons, a wood products manufacturer in Chemainus, has begun expanding its manufacturing facility with up to $2 million in provincial funding. The project is supported by the B.C. government’s BC Manufacturing Jobs Fund, which provides capital for facility expansions and equipment upgrades.

The expansion aims to increase production capacity and introduce new prefabricated wood products, including floors, roof panels, and stairs, in addition to the company’s existing prefabricated wall systems. The initiative is expected to create up to 35 new jobs and has already resulted in 20 new hires due to investments in advanced manufacturing equipment.

By moving more of the construction process off-site, the company intends to improve efficiency and product quality while addressing housing needs in British Columbia. Construction on the final phase of the project is underway and is expected to reach completion by February 2027.
