Ron DeCar celebrates 28 years of Elvis-themed weddings in Las Vegas
Ron DeCar, founder of the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel, is celebrating 28 years of business by centering his ceremonies around the legacy of Elvis Presley. Established in 1999 alongside his partner Jamie, the chapel has become known for various themed weddings, including rock'n'roll, gothic, and gangster styles, though the Elvis theme remains the most prominent.
DeCar, a former singer for Strip productions such as the Tropicana and Las Vegas Hilton, transitioned from performing romantic songs in a tuxedo to dressing as the ‘King of Rock and Roll’ after a competitor requested the change to meet high consumer demand. He notes that Elvis's connection to Las Vegas is profound, citing the singer's marriage to Priscilla at the Aladdin (now Planet Hollywood) as a key part of the city's history.
