Ron Yeffet faces legal battle in Florida over bank account disclosure

Israeli businessman Ron Yeffet is facing legal challenges in a Florida court following allegations of fraud. The plaintiff, Mark Faist, has filed a ‘Motion to Compel’ seeking a court order to force Yeffet to disclose full transaction histories for specific accounts at Regions Bank, Provident Bank, and Spencer Savings Bank.

Faist alleges that $8.6 million intended for construction projects in New York was misappropriated. The legal dispute intensified after Yeffet filed a countersuit for defamation, claiming that Faist’s accusations damaged his reputation and caused the loss of a construction project in Albania valued at over $30 million.

Legal counsel for Faist argues that because Yeffet is seeking damages for defamation by claiming the fraud accusations are false, he cannot withhold his American bank statements. Under Florida law, the ‘Truth Defense’ applies; if the bank records demonstrate the funds were misused, the defamation claim would be invalidated.
