Ronald Exantus Released Again by Kentucky After Partial Sentence

Ronald Exantus, the man convicted of stabbing six‑year‑old Logan Tipton to death in his Versailles, Kentucky home in 2015, was released from prison on July 29, 2026 with no parole or supervision requirements. Exantus was found not guilty by reason of insanity for the murder and guilty but mentally ill on assault charges against Logan’s father Dean Tipton and his sisters, receiving a 20‑year sentence on the latter counts. After serving roughly half the term, he was first released in October 2025, re‑arrested in Florida for failing to register as a felon, and then returned to complete the remainder of his Kentucky sentence. The Kentucky Department of Corrections said his release was pursuant to state law and not the decision of the parole board.
