Ronald Koeman Jr. scores two penalties for SC Telstar

Ronald Koeman Jr., the goalkeeper for SC Telstar, made Eredivisie history by scoring two goals in a single match against SC Cambuur. The 31-year-old, son of former Netherlands national team manager Ronald Koeman, converted two penalties to secure a 2-2 draw.

During the match on September 6, Koeman Jr. first scored a penalty in the 63rd minute to reduce the deficit to 1-2. He then scored again during stoppage time following a VAR intervention, striking the ball into the bottom right corner to equalize. This achievement marks the first time a goalkeeper has scored twice in a single Eredivisie match.

Koeman Jr. has previously demonstrated his proficiency from the penalty spot, having scored a crucial penalty in the final match of the previous season to help Telstar maintain its position in the top flight. Following the match, he expressed confidence in his role as a primary penalty taker, stating, ‘I am the first choice now. I can kick penalties well and I have confidence.’
