Ronaldo Lessa resigns as Vice-Governor of Alagoas

Ronaldo Lessa has officially resigned from his position as Vice-Governor of Alagoas, effective immediately. In a resignation letter submitted to Governor Paulo Dantas, Lessa cited political disagreements and administrative restrictions following his public support for JHC’s candidacy for the state government.

Lessa stated that the use of spaces within the Vice-Governorship, which were established to host social movements and educational projects, was restricted after his political endorsement. He noted that these circumstances compromised the public purpose of his role and his ability to continue his work.

Moving forward, Lessa intends to align with JHC to assist in structuring the new Alagoas government starting in 2027, while also offering his experience to the Municipal Secretariat of Education in Maceió. The State Government has confirmed receipt of the resignation and is taking the necessary legal steps to formalize the vacancy.
