Ronaldo Martínez seeks permanent transfer to Vélez Sarsfield
Paraguayan striker Ronaldo Martínez has expressed his desire to remain with Vélez Sarsfield following a strong performance in the Argentine Torneo Clausura. Currently on loan from Talleres de Córdoba, Martínez has scored nine goals in eight matches, placing him among the tournament's top scorers.
The player's scoring streak has significant financial implications for Vélez. Under the current loan agreement, reaching a specific goal threshold could trigger an obligation to purchase 100% of his rights for approximately 3,000,000 USD. In response to his performance, the Vélez board, led by Fabián Berlanga, is reportedly negotiating to execute a different purchase option valued at roughly 2,325,000 USD for 75% of his economic rights.
Martínez has praised the club's integration, stating he has felt part of the team since his arrival. Negotiations between the Vélez leadership and Talleres, headed by Andrés Fassi, are ongoing to finalize the details of the transfer.
