Ronaldo Nazário acquires controlling stake in Head Brazil
Former football star Ronaldo Nazário has acquired a 51% controlling stake in DLD, the company responsible for operating the sports brands Head and Mares in Brazil. He will serve as the president of Head's Brazilian operations.
The remaining 49% of the company was acquired by a group of investors that includes former tennis player Bruno Soares, alongside entrepreneurs João Rezende, Bruno Mendonça, Gustavo Maia, and Rafael Alcici Cardoso. While the transaction value was not disclosed, the move follows a period of strong performance for Head Brasil, which reported a 26% increase in revenue over the last 12 months.
Under the new leadership, the company aims to expand its distribution network, enhance services for resellers, and strengthen ties with clubs, academies, and racquet sport practitioners. The Mares brand, a global manufacturer of water sports equipment, will remain integrated into the DLD strategy.
