Ronan O'Gara addresses Leinster coaching speculation

Ronan O'Gara has addressed ongoing speculation linking him to the Leinster head coach position following Leo Cullen's announcement that he will depart at the end of the 2026/27 season.

Writing in his Irish Examiner column, O'Gara stated that while his current contract with La Rochelle expires next summer, his immediate focus remains with the French club. He described the discussions regarding Leinster as “interesting or even a tad amusing,” but emphasized that “La Rochelle is the only project in my eyeline.”

O'Gara, who has led La Rochelle to consecutive Champions Cup titles in 2022 and 2023, expressed a desire to remain with the side and secure a Top 14 title, a trophy that has thus far eluded him. While IRFU performance director David Humphreys suggested O'Gara would likely be considered for the Leinster role, the coach maintains his priority is staying in France.
