Ronca Editore and Emanuele Bettini debut new literary series in Mexico
The Cremona-based publisher Ronca Editore is launching a new literary collection titled ‘LIBERAmens’ at the Guadalajara International Book Fair. Founded and directed by writer Emanuele Bettini, the series focuses on contemporary foreign authors, offering works in their original languages translated into Italian in collaboration with the Società Dante Alighieri.
The collection will debut with two volumes by Mexican authors: the novella ‘Biforcazioni’ by Martha Cerda and the short story ‘Storia di una gringa che è nata in Messico, ma non parla inglese’ by Professor Dante Medina. This initiative marks a reconnection between Bettini and Mexico after 23 years.
Additionally, the Society of Mexican Writers (Sogem) has proposed the creation of the ‘Elena Garro’ literary prize, named after the celebrated writer and wife of Nobel laureate Octavio Paz. Emanuele Bettini has been named Honorary Juror for this award.
