Ronda bullring reopens with return of the Corrida Goyesca

The traditional Corrida Goyesca has returned to Ronda after a two-year hiatus caused by structural rehabilitation works at the Real Maestranza de Caballería bullring. The 67th edition, dedicated to the memory of Antonio Ordóñez, saw a highly anticipated turnout with sold-out tickets and high hotel occupancy in the city.

The event featured successful performances by rejoneador Diego Ventura, who earned two ears, and bullfighters José María Manzanares and Juan Ortega, both of whom also received two ears. Morante de la Puebla, a central figure of the poster, faced a more difficult afternoon with less impactful performances.

In other regional news, Hinojos is celebrating the Recogida de las Yeguas, a traditional event involving the gathering of over 400 mares and foals from the Doñana marshes. Meanwhile, in Cartagena, a solidarity concert featuring artists like Francy and Guayacán Orquesta is being organized to raise funds for the construction of 1,000 homes for families affected by recent earthquakes in Colombia.
