Ronda prepares for Pedro Romero Fair and return of bullfighting

The city of Ronda is preparing for the Pedro Romero Fair and Festivals. The festivities will include a series of preliminary events starting August 20 with a proclamation by the Mayor of Grazalema, Carlos García.

A major highlight of this year's edition is the return of bullfighting activities, including the Novillada, Rejones, and the Corrida Goyescas. This return follows the completion of an eleven-month structural rehabilitation project at the Real Maestranza de Caballería bullring, which had suspended such events for two years.

Other scheduled activities include the Concurso Exhibición de Enganches (Equestrian Carriage Exhibition) on September 6 and the LII International Folklore Gala, held from August 28 to 30. The folklore event will feature cultural groups from India, France, Mexico, and Easter Island.

Local authorities, including Ronda Mayor María de la Paz Fernández, have emphasized the importance of these traditions returning to their full format following the necessary safety and consolidation works at the historic venue.
