Ronda Rousey protested WWE's treatment of women's division
Shayna Baszler has revealed that former UFC champion Ronda Rousey personally funded a trip to WWE headquarters to protest the lack of time allocated to the women's division.
According to Baszler, the confrontation occurred after Rousey discovered that six minutes had been cut from one of her pay-per-view matches because a preceding match had run over its allotted time. Baszler emphasized that such a reduction is significant for storytelling and emotional engagement in professional wrestling.
Baszler stated that Rousey flew to the company's central offices to confront the creative team directly. During this meeting, Rousey reportedly demanded to know if the pattern of reducing women's match times would change, suggesting she would have no reason to remain with the company otherwise.
