The ‘Ronde de Nice’ zucchini is a compact, bushy variety that stays under 70 cm wide and produces spherical green fruits about 6–8 cm in diameter. It is ideal for balcony gardening when grown in a pot of at least 40 litres (≈40 cm diameter and depth) with a drainage layer of clay beads or pozzolan, a rich soil mix, and a single plant per pot. Daily watering of roughly 2 L in hot weather, regular NPK or diluted manure feeding every two weeks, and frequent harvesting every two days keep the plant productive, yielding ten to fifteen fruits per season from mid‑June to early October.

A complementary summer recipe rolls thin zucchini ribbons over grated cheese, then layers mozzarella, tomato, bell pepper, red onion, fresh coriander and optional shredded chicken. The assembled sheet is baked at 180 °C for 20 minutes, then cut into portions. The dish is versatile, allowing variations such as ricotta‑pesto spread or cured ham slices.
