Rondônia authorities launch initiatives to combat violence against women and in schools
The government of Rondônia has delivered 18 new vehicles to strengthen efforts against violence against women. The investment, totaling R$ 3,305,830.32 and funded by the National Public Security Fund (FNSP), aims to expand specialized services and preventive actions across the state.
Of the vehicles provided, 12 are allocated to the Maria da Penha Patrols of the Military Police of Rondônia (PMRO) to monitor women with protective orders. The remaining six vehicles will support Specialized Police Stations for Women's Assistance (DEAMs) to improve investigation and service capacity.
In a separate initiative, the Public Ministry of Rondônia (MPRO) conducted training in Ouro Preto do Oeste to implement a pioneering school violence prevention protocol. The program involves school directors, educators, and security forces to coordinate integrated responses between education, health, and public safety sectors. The training focuses on identifying early warning signs of radicalization, preventing bullying, and establishing protocols for managing threats and school attacks.
