Rondônia election results spark legal inquiry by PL party

In the state of Rondônia, the Liberal Party (PL), led by Governor-elect Marcos Rogério, has filed a formal request with the Regional Electoral Court (TRE-RO) seeking data regarding the extension of voting hours during the presidential second-round elections. The request follows a Supreme Federal Court decision by Minister Cristiano Zanin that extended voting in the state until 6:00 PM, two hours past the standard closing time.

The PL is seeking specific details, including the number of voters who cast ballots after 4:00 PM, which polling stations remained open, and how the decision was communicated and executed. The party aims to distinguish between voters who were already in line at 4:00 PM and those who arrived after the extension was announced. They have requested a breakdown of votes by municipality, zone, and polling station.

Amidst these legal inquiries, the Planalto São Luiz district in the municipality of Cabixi emerged as a statistical outlier in the state. While Flávio Bolsonaro won all 52 municipalities in Rondônia, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva secured a narrow victory in this specific district, receiving 191 votes to Bolsonaro's 187.
