Rondônia Electoral Court issues orders for candidate registrations

The Regional Electoral Court of Rondônia (TRE-RO) has issued orders regarding the candidacy registrations of two political figures for the 2026 elections.

Jair Montes, a candidate for federal deputy representing the Avante party, has been given three days to either change his ballot name or prove its public notoriety. The court expressed concerns regarding potential voter confusion with his father, a well-known former state deputy. Montes, 23, is the youngest candidate for the Chamber of Deputies in Rondônia for the upcoming cycle. His legal name is Jair de Figueiredo Monte Júnior, distinguished from his father only by the suffix “Júnior”.

Separately, state deputy Jean Oliveira, running for reelection under the Federação Renovação Solidária, has also been summoned by the TRE-RO to regularize his documentation. The court identified a missing second-instance state criminal certificate required for his candidacy registration. Oliveira has three days to provide the document to avoid the rejection of his registration request. The court noted that the summons does not imply ineligibility or existing convictions, but is a requirement for the formal analysis of his filing.
