Rondônia hosts events focused on women's health and racial equity

Various institutions in Rondônia, Brazil, held events addressing women's health and racial equality. The Public Ministry of Rondônia (MPRO) conducted a program focused on female well-being as part of the 'Pink October' campaign. The initiative included physical exercises and a lecture by Dr. Priscila Tourinho, who discussed the importance of early diagnosis for breast cancer and cervical cancer. The lecture also highlighted the disproportionate burden of domestic labor on women, noting that according to 2022 IBGE data, women spend over 21.3 hours per week on housework and caregiving, compared to 11.7 hours for men.

In Vilhena, the OAB Rondônia and the Ancestralidade Vilhena movement organized the 'Conversa Entre Pretas' (Conversation Among Black Women) forum. The event focused on the physical and mental health of Black women and the pursuit of racial equity. Participants included judicial authorities, federal government representatives, and health professionals. The discussion aimed to decentralize debates on racial equality and improve access to justice and public policies for Black communities in the state's southern region.
