Rondônia's Union‑Progressive Federation backs Hildon Chaves for governor and Ieda Chaves for re‑election

At a packed convention in Porto Velho, the Federação União‑Progressista (the alliance of União Brasil and Progressistas) officially nominated Hildon Chaves as its candidate for governor of Rondônia. Chaves warned of a "financial crisis" in the state and highlighted his eight‑year tenure as mayor of Porto Velho as proof of his managerial capability. The coalition will run under the banner “De Sul a Norte, Rondônia mais forte.”

In the same meeting, state deputy Ieda Chaves (União Brasil) was confirmed as the party’s candidate for re‑election to the Rondônia Legislative Assembly in the 2026 elections. She recapped her first term achievements, reaffirmed commitments to women’s rights, health, education, social assistance and animal welfare, and endorsed her husband Hildon Chaves for governor while supporting two women for the federal Senate.
