Brazil hosts various regional sports tournaments
Various regional sports competitions are taking place across Brazil. In Campo Grande, the Centro-Oeste Regional Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament is being held from August 27 to 30 at the Guanandizão Gymnasium, featuring approximately 210 athletes from 15 clubs across Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, Goiás, and the Distrito Federal.
In Maringá, the South Regional Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament is hosting around 500 athletes from Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul. This event serves as a qualifier for the National Tournament.
Other notable sporting events include the 30th Women's Volleyball Integration Cup in Palotina, the 5th stage of the Mato Grosso State Shooting Championship in Lucas do Rio Verde, and the 44th Intercollegiate tournament featuring beach volleyball in Nova Iguaçu. Additionally, the São Paulo State Youth Golf Tournament is scheduled for late August at the Clube de Campo.
In combat sports, São José is holding judo trials for the Olesc 2026 team, and Marlon Silva is representing Maranhão at the Brazilian Junior Judo Championship in São José (SC). Local school games (JEMA) are also concluding in Araras, SP, with futsal and flag football finals.
