Rondonópolis merchant José Caetano Filho dies at 84

José Caetano Filho, a prominent merchant known as ‘Zé da Kibon’, has passed away at the age of 84 in Cuiabá. A pioneer in the food and snack bar industry in Rondonópolis, his commercial journey began in 1966.

His businesses, located at Praça Brasil and later Praça dos Carreiros, served as significant social hubs for workers, students, and locals for six decades. He earned his nickname by being the first entrepreneur to resell Kibon ice cream in the municipality. The Rondonópolis City Hall expressed grief over his passing, noting his legacy in shaping the local urban history.
