Authorities in Mato Grosso have identified suspects involved in a violent home invasion and torture of Councilman Wesley Cláudio and his family in Rondonópolis. The attack occurred in the early hours of Monday (28), during which the councilman, his wife, and their two children were held captive for nearly four hours.
During the incident, the criminals searched the residence for valuables. The councilman suffered serious injuries, including a wound to his head and the loss of part of his right ear. His wife was also brutally assaulted and reportedly suffered two attempts at strangulation, causing her to lose consciousness. The family's 9-year-old son was also threatened during the ordeal.
State Secretary of Public Security, Colonel Susane Tamanho, confirmed that civil and military police, supported by tactical units such as Rotam and Bope, are conducting integrated operations to capture the remaining members of the criminal group. While suspects have been identified, their names have not yet been released to avoid compromising ongoing investigations.
