Guariroba Environmental Protection Area project engages students

The ‘Aula Viva Guariroba’ project is engaging students from the Municipal Education Network (Reme) in environmental education and the preservation of the Guariroba Environmental Protection Area (APA). This protected territory is vital to the region, providing over 40% of the water supply for Campo Grande.

Developed by the Transportadora Brasileira Gasoduto Bolívia-Brasil (TBG) in partnership with the Municipal Education Secretariat (Semed), Águas Guariroba, and the Municipal Agency for Environment and Urban Planning (Planurb), the initiative aims to connect classroom learning with local environmental realities.

Over the course of six meetings, 240 students from the 6th to 9th grades will participate in a program featuring lectures, workshops, and educational games. The curriculum covers topics such as water resources, biodiversity, sustainability, pollution, and conscious consumption, helping students understand the relationship between environmental preservation, energy, and urban space.
