Rondonópolis Table Tennis Team Wins Historic Mato Grosso State League Title
The Academia de Tênis de Mesa de Rondonópolis (ATMR) captured the team championship of the III Liga Mato‑grossense de Tênis de Mesa, marking the first state title for the municipality. The decisive final was held in Rondonópolis, with athletes from Cuiabá, Várzea Grande, Primavera do Leste and the host city competing across 32 participants in categories ranging from Sub‑9 to Master 50. The team earned 12 gold, seven silver and 19 bronze medals, totaling 38 medals and the overall trophy.
Club coach Marcos Gomes credited the result to the athletes’ dedication, technical staff work and the support of the municipal government. Secretary of Education, Culture, Sport and Leisure Carlos Júnior praised the achievement, noting the project’s growth from a single table in a garage in 2021 to a state‑level champion.
Key performers included Gabriel Pardin, who won gold in Sub‑19 and Open Absolute B Male, and Ana Kapfemberguer, who secured three gold medals in Sub‑15, Sub‑17 and Open Absolute C Female.
